Who we are

Not Okay (notokay.co.uk) is a UK mental health signposting website run by Mark Weston, who is responsible for your information. Contact: hello@notokay.co.uk.

Using the website

  • There are no accounts, cookies, adverts or tracking, and we don't use analytics.
  • Fonts and images load from this website only. Nothing is shared with Google, social media or advertisers.
  • If you save a safety plan, it's stored in your own browser on your own device. We can't see it, and it never reaches us. Clearing it on the page, or clearing your browser data, deletes it.
  • Your text-size setting is stored the same way. Check-in reminders are created on your device and are never sent to us.
  • Our hosting provider, Netlify, keeps standard technical records (such as IP addresses) for a short time to keep the site secure and running. We don't use these to identify anyone. We may look at Netlify's anonymous visitor counts, which come from these records and use no cookies.

If you email us

  • We receive your email address, your name if you include it, and what you write.
  • We use it only to reply, or to consider a service for listing on the site. Our lawful basis is legitimate interests: answering people who contact us.
  • We keep emails for up to 12 months, then delete them. Our email is provided by 123 Reg.
  • We never sell or share your details, and never add you to a mailing list.

If you tell us someone is in danger

Not Okay is not a crisis service. If a message makes us believe someone's life is at immediate risk, we may contact the emergency services and share what's needed to help keep them safe. The law allows this to protect someone's vital interests.

Social media

If you contact Not Okay on Facebook, Instagram, X or LinkedIn, that platform's own privacy policy applies to what you post. We only use messages to reply.

Your rights

You can ask to see the information we hold about you, have it corrected or deleted, or object to how we use it. Email hello@notokay.co.uk and we'll reply within one month.

If you're unhappy with how we've handled your information, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.

Changes

If this notice changes, we'll update the date at the top of this page.
