Real journeys

Real journeys, from people who've been where you are

What it felt like, what helped, and where they are now, in their own words. More are on the way.

If you're struggling right now, you don't need to read anything first. Someone will listen today.

Share your journey

This form isn't a crisis service and it isn't checked round the clock. If you need to talk now, call Samaritans on 116 123 (free, 24/7) or text SHOUT to 85258. In danger right now: call 999.

If you've been through a hard time and come out the other side, even a little, your journey could help someone who's in the middle of it now. It doesn't need to be polished. Write it the way you'd tell a mate.

Things that help other people most

  • What it felt like, and what made you reach out or start to turn a corner.
  • What helped: a person, a service, a conversation, something small.
  • Where you are now, and what you'd say to someone in the same place.

Please leave out

  • Details of any method of self-harm or suicide, or specific places. They can put people at risk.
  • Other people's names or details, unless they've agreed.

We may edit your journey for length and safety, and we'll check with you before anything is published.

How would you like to share it?

Photos and videos aren't uploaded here. If you'd like to share one, we'll email you about how.

How should we name you?

Your journey is about your mental health, so we treat it as sensitive. Only Not Okay can read it. We never share your email, and we delete it whenever you ask. See our privacy notice.

Under 18? Please ask a parent or carer to email hello@notokay.co.uk with you.
